A welcome message from Eddy of Trapp Tours.
I established the business in 2002 just operating motorcycle tours out of Byron Bay and eventually operating tours further afield. I first got involved with motorcycles when I worked in Mt Isa Mines at the age of 27. My first ride was from Mt Isa to Ayres Rock across the Plenty Highway with just 3 months riding experience! That trip taught me a lot on dirt roads and the outback on what to do and not to do and changed my life.
One of my favourite rides was on my own which I travelled for 2 and half months living in a dome tent. In that time, I crossed the Simpson Desert and rode all through Cape York on my trusty TT600, it was one of the best trips of my life.
My background is as a motor mechanic, completing an apprenticeship after leaving school then joining the Royal Australian Navy, completed a high power electrical traineeship (ETP).
My other interests are BMX which I do with my son on a competitive level racing in our local area, riding motorcycles and 4wd’ing, exploring in this magnificent country which I never get sick of.
If you choose to book with us I can offer you a great and relaxed tour whichever tour option you choose. All of our tours are fun and exciting and quite social.
Our motorcycle tours are not hard core while at the same time we give you a good opportunity to rest and take in the sights as we travel. Some tours can be a bit challenging but we do have options for the riders who find it a bit tough. We specialise in the Simpson Desert and Cape York tours.
We have now started conducting 4wd tours through the Simpson Desert to Uluru in our passenger 4×4 vehicles supported by our 6×6 support vehicle.
We also offer a tag-along option if you are wanting to use your own vehicle at a very reasonable price.
Book with us on any of our tours and I will guarantee you will have a great adventure and see fantastic scenery and get value for money.
